I requested and received this copy of my great grandfather's birth record in August of 1984. At that time I was preparing my admission papers to the DAR.

After Winnie Gladys Carpenter's mother died in 1895, her father, Dryden Henderson Carpenter remarried and moved to District 0120, Yellow Pine, Washington County Alabama. I have been told by my mother that Grandma Leonard did not like living there. There must have been communication between Winnie and Frederick (Fred) while she lived in Yellow Pine. She returned to Kane County, Illinois and was married shortly after her return.

This birth record was retireved from Osceola County, Michigan, in the mid to late 1980's.

George Franklin Leonard and his wife Olive Fisher [and family] moved to Osceola County Michigan, possibly to find work.

I believe that this is a Supplemental birth record as it was supplied in 1943.

I have a deposition from Olive Fisher Leonard that states under oath that the family was in Michigan for approximately 2 years. I will post at a later date.

I believe that this photo was taken when Grandma Leonard was about 7 years old. At that time the family was living in Willow, Richland County Wisconsin.

I believe that this picture of Grandma Winnie Gladys Leonard was taken between the time just before or after the family moved to Arkansas.
