Leonard Family - - page

This is a picture taken in Kane County Illinois. On the far left of the picture is my grandmother Lenoir Inez Leonard Triplett (Bobbie). My great Aunt, WinnieFred Olive Leonard (Fred) sitting in the  middle of the picture. As we look at the picture, their mother Winnie Gladys Carpenter Leonard is standing. At the far right of the picture is Ione Gertrude Leonard (Billie) Martin. I would guess that this picture was taken prior to 1915.
I was told that this picture was taken as a gift to the girl's father, George Frederick Leonard.

Fisher Family - Eleazar Fisher - Page 2 - Sandwich Argus - 100th Birthday Celebration

I don't remember when I found/received this article. I believe I received it in the late 1980's or after 2019.

The newspaper was the Sandwich Argus, Fri. Sept. 30 1912. This article reads:

One-Hundredth Birthday Anniversary

Regardless of the inclemency of the weather on Monday, Sept 26th, more than fifty relatives, friends and [well wishers] called to pay their respect  to Mr. Eleazar Fisher on the one-hundredth birthday anniversary. The occasion was such an unusual one that a gentle man from Mendota, though a stranger to Mr. Fisher, availed himself of the opportunity to shake hands with and pay reverence to one who had attained such great age.

Thirty of the relatives and very dear friends were invited to dine with Mr. Fisher and others who [?] were served with light refreshments.

A dozen beautiful boquets were [?] in to lend their cheer to the day.

Besides other numerous substantial gifts, a purse was received which shall assist in procuring the material comforts.

A delightful letter of congratulations from a comrade, "one of the Green Mountain Boys" was received. Besides half a hundred postals from [?] various friends in the United States.

No ill effects could be observed re[?] from the day of dissipation, but the centenarian indulged in an extra nap the following morning.

The out-of-town  guests were Mr. and Mrs. Pruett, Policeman Leonard, wife and three daughters, Miss Blanch Leonard, B.D. Leonard, Mr. Brown, Aurora; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Morrill and Children, Mr. and Mrs. Jud Mansfield, Rockford; Mr. McKay, Mendota.
