Van Natter Family - Sarah Van Natter - Obituary

I found this on FamilySearch.org on 11 June 2022. This obituary reads as:

OBITUARY

Sarah Ann Vannator was born in Herkimer county, New York, August 20th, 1810 and at the time of her death, which occurred in this city January 26, 1901 she had just passed the ninetieth mile-stone on life's highway by just five months and five days. She was married July 19, 1828 to Halsey Carpenter with whom she lived for upward of sixty years. To them eight sons and four daughters were born, one son and one daughter having died in childhood. The others with sixty-four grandchildren and ninety great grand-children, and numerous great-great-grand children survive this aged pilgrim. She came with her family to Richland county in 1856 and to the time of her death this was her home. She united with the church early in life, and her bible was to her the book of books. Her children, Henry, Emery and Edward reside in California; Dryden in Mississippi, Myron i Kansas; Silas in Wisconsin; Mrs. Abby Francis, a daughter, of Burr Oak, Kansas. Edward and wife, with Myron, o Orient, Iowa, reached their mother's bedside in time for recognition and were present at the funeral. The other daughters are Mrs. A. Stowell, of Henrietta, Wisconsin, and Mrs. S. C. Hyatt, of this city with whom the departed made her home for several years. The remains were laid to rest in the city cemetery by the side of her husband, who passed away several years since. Rev. K. M. Martin preached the funeral discourse from 2 Cor.,5:17, at the Presbyterian church Tuesday the 29th.

The places that knew her will know her no more,
She hath gone forever from this mortal shore,
Death's deep, dark, dark river with its rolling tide,
Hath borne her to rest on the farther side
Yet let us hope heaven will restore
To us our loved ones gone before,
When Death's dark valley hath been passed
And all are gathered home at last,
Upon a fair and restful shore
Where pain and parting come no more,
And heard no more of sorrow's sighs,
Where tears are wiped from Weeping eyes,
And sweeter joys than earth hath known
Forever more shall be our own.
