My dear son Fred. your letter came some days ago and I am sorry to notice you have blood poisoning which is a very Serious thing. I have not been well for some days. this is the first I have wrote since your letter came. I wish I could help you in your trouble. god knows, I would willingly. I have no news only I got a long letter from Allie, and paper from Gertie. this is a beautiful day here - love to girls, and Fred. this and the stamp on Gerties. Closes me out of Stamps, money and all else exept, that god will do the best for all of us if we only trust him. hoping you are better. I must close for this time by hoping you may be able to enjoy a Happy
New Year and may it be a very bright, successful one for you - "Only strike out for yourself" so if you make any thing it will be yours ask? No not on your life they will bleed you there find some good man, and work for him. be patient do work well and your reward will come. god bless you my boy of all.
